Mike goes to China #118 dicembre 2013
After having shown off his talent all over Europe, now Mike Efevberha has decided to shine in China. The economy of the biggest Asian country the economy of the Great Wall’s country pushes more and more american players to start a one of a kind adventure in Asia, preferring it to an experience in a not-so-stable-anymore European team. This sport, made even more famous by Yao Ming, draws large crowds to arenas of the biggest Chinese cities to see unlucky former NBA players battle against rusty and aged stars averaging triple-doubles. In the middle of these two groups of players we can find players like Mike, great scorers who couldn’t get it to the biggest stages.
WHO IS MIKE EFEVBERHA
My name is Michael Efevberha and I am a shooting guard for the Sichuan Whales of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). I started this season with the Xinjiang Flying Tigers of the CBA, but things didn’t work out as planned and Sichuan decided to sign me. My time in Urumqi, China was a lot of fun. The head coach there is an amazing person, and so were my team mates. The city was pretty cold but I still enjoyed my time there.
Now I am living in Chengdu, China. This place is totally amazing! The weather here reminds me of Los Angeles a bit. There are so many different things to do here to keep yourself busy. One of my favorite things about the city is the vast variety of food. So far I’ve have traditional American meals, Hispanic dishes, as well as some great Italian meals! I am actually sitting in a restaurant right now named “Grandmas Kitchen” ordering a pepperoni pizza for take-away!
Just like in Xinjiang, my team mates here in Sichuan are great as well! We work very hard everyday in practice to become a better team. Our coach (JT Prada) is very dedicated and works very hard to prepare us for every game.
Thank you for checking out my first blog of this season! There will be plenty more to come. Money mike out!!!!!
