1922- In their only complete season in the Eastern League, the New York Celtics beat the Trenton Potters 26-22, winning the title with a 2-1 win.
1968- Senegal becomes the first team southern than Sahara to win the African championship, defeating the reigning champion of Morocco with the final score of 67-60.
1991- In the match lost by the Pistons in New York 101-88, Isiah Thomas scores 16 points and passes the goal of 15,000 career points.
1996- Robert Parish passes Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (1,560) in games played in the NBA, becoming the leading player in this category. He will end his career with 1,611 games played.
1998- Michael Jordan is the first player in NBA history to be part of the best defensive team for nine times.
2010- UConn women team complete their second consecutive season without losing one single game. In NCAA History, only UCLA men team accomplished such a feat between 1971 and 1973. Thanks to the win over Stanford, the Huskies reach 78 consecutive wins.
