April, 7th: Rockets unbeaten in their division, Malone’s 56 points and Bradley’s 13 blocks
1956- The Philadelphia Warriors, thanks to an outstanding performance by Paul Arizin, win against the Fort Wayne Pistons 4-1 and conquer the 10th NBA championship. Arizin averages 28.9 points per game in the Playoffs and his teammate Neil Johnson averages 14.3 rebounds.
1959- Bob Cousy dishes 19 assists, setting an NBA Playoffs record in the Boston Celtics’ win over Minneapolis with the score of 123-110.
1969- The Milwaukee Bucks select Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with the first pick of the NBA Draft.
1977- After a 100-114 win against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden, Don Buse finishes the season averaging 8.5 assists and 3.5 steals. He is the leader in these statistics for the second consecutive season.
1998- Karl Malone scores 58 points in the Utah Jazz’s W over the Golden State Warriors. The same day, Shawn Bradley blocks 13 shots, even if his Dallas Mavericks lose to the Portland Trail Blazers 99-91.
2001- The Houston Rockets beat the Atlanta Hawks 110-97 and they are unbeaten in their Division. The Rockets had a Central Division record of 16-0. The last team which accomplished such a feat was the 1982/83 Los Angeles Lakers.
